Arkham House
Arkham House’s April Derleth, and Bob and Phyllis Weinberg, along with
contributions from the August Derleth Society, are pulling together a
retrospective display including rare and fabulous items of Arkham House
history. The display will be open in room 634 on Thursday, Friday and
Saturday, hours to be announced.
Included in the display may be:
- Lovecraft's boyhood telescope
- Signed Lovecraft books
- Early Arkham House correspondence
- Numerous rare Arkham House hardcovers in fine condition including THE
OUTSIDER, BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP, MARGINALIA, SKULLFACE, THE HOUSE ON THE
BORDERLAND, DARK CARNIVAL and many others
- The original artwork used for Arkham Books, THE DUNWHICH HORROR, WHO FEARS
THE DEVIL, WATCHERS OUT OF TIME and others
- Unique Clark Ashton Smith sculptures
In addition, other works of historical interest:
- Virgil Finlay's first cover painting for WEIRD TALES in 1937
- Finaly's famous protrait of H.P. Lovecraft from 1937
- Art by BOK, LAWRENCE, EMSH, FREAS and many other great Fantasy artists
- Numerous rare books, many signed by famous authors
- NOT AT NIGHT - the rare British hardcover anthology series from the 1930s,
all in dust jackets
